Grand Canyon 2012

I think this was my favorit car at the show
A few weeks ago I got the opportunity to take a trip to Lake Havasu, LasVegas and the Grand Canyon.  I have a friend with a house in Havasu City and she keeps a truck in Vegas so all I have to do is get a ticket to Vegas and everything else is pretty much free!  This trip was amazing!  First I went to a huge car show in Havasu, then headed to my friend Cindy's house. She Just got a pool put in and it was beautiful! It was like my own private resort palm trees and all.  I spent a few days there and then headed to the Paris hotel were I got a free room with my rewards card.  This hotel was great and has good food too! It's one of my favorite places to stay there.  As usual I did lots of walking, eating and site seeing.  The next day David took me on a helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon!  I have never been in a  helicopter so I was really excited!  He researched everything and picked the best helicopter with the lowest landing point inside the canyon.  A limo picked us up at the hotel and drove us to the airport.  Upon check in I found out the we got the front seat, which was a fun surprise! We flew over Lake Mead and The Hoover Dam before landing torward the bottom of the Grand Canyon. The trip was one of the best times I've had there! Unfortunately we got in a small fender bender on the way to the airport and missed our flight home.  We had to wait several hours for the police which took extra long because Obama was in town!  We were on the last flight of the night too.  Luckily Southwest re-booked us on the a.m. flight for no extra charge and I had enough points to stay an extra free night.  I got up-graded to a huge suite! It was nice. I did have to reschedule my first client the next day.  I went straight from the airport to work which made a long day but it was worth it.  I can't wait to go back!

Mud Run

Rampage at the RAC

Pre-race

Jello-pit
Saturday I did my first "mud run".  Autumn did it with me.  It was a lot of fun!  I loved the obstacles but the running was a lot harder then I thought.  I guess I should work-out more! I think I was pretty good at the obstacles though.  The only one I wasn't great at was jumping up the hay stack.  It was a bit tall for me and I had to step on the guys shoulder.  I can't believe Autumn (who's 4'11") could do it though.  She said she had lots of practice from sneaking out the window as a teenager. Apparently I didn't sneak out enough.  It was a 5k.  We finished in just under an hour.  David and Sammy came to watch.  He drove the motor home so we could clean up and change after.  He also was our photographer, and watched Sammy too.  I am so happy he is part of my life!  Oh ya did I mention it was pouring down rain! I think I will do another one next year!
