Glass Blowing Class

I can't believe how fast time goes by.  I was going to blog on week one of class but then I decided to put it off till I could put up a picture of the really cool stuff I made....Well several weeks have gone by and I'm still waiting for the really cool stuff!  Glass blowing is so much harder then I thought!  I was planning on making tons of great things and giving them to everyone at Christmas.  Ya that's not going to happen.  I am slowly improving though.  I had took a few classes before and everything came out great!  That was a trick! The glass blower helper actually does about 90% off the work to make your piece look great and I had no idea until I tried it on my own!  In real class it's probably about the opposite, I'm doing 90% of the work and things don't look quite so good.  I am going to put up a few pictures but I don't want to give everything away.  If  I'm lucky a few of my pieces will be able to be gifts.  (Keep in mind these look better in the pictures then person.  You can't really tell the nothing sits flat, or the colors are not even, stuff like that.) I have made a snowman, jelly fish, Christmas ornaments, bowls, cups, and vases, ect.  We do a lot of practicing in clear, which isn't very pretty and shows every flaw!  I've broke a few thing too.  This week is already my last week.  I defiantly have enjoy it and want to do more.  There is an advanced class I want to take but they are expensive and I need to save up again...

Grand Canyon 2012

I think this was my favorit car at the show
A few weeks ago I got the opportunity to take a trip to Lake Havasu, LasVegas and the Grand Canyon.  I have a friend with a house in Havasu City and she keeps a truck in Vegas so all I have to do is get a ticket to Vegas and everything else is pretty much free!  This trip was amazing!  First I went to a huge car show in Havasu, then headed to my friend Cindy's house. She Just got a pool put in and it was beautiful! It was like my own private resort palm trees and all.  I spent a few days there and then headed to the Paris hotel were I got a free room with my rewards card.  This hotel was great and has good food too! It's one of my favorite places to stay there.  As usual I did lots of walking, eating and site seeing.  The next day David took me on a helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon!  I have never been in a  helicopter so I was really excited!  He researched everything and picked the best helicopter with the lowest landing point inside the canyon.  A limo picked us up at the hotel and drove us to the airport.  Upon check in I found out the we got the front seat, which was a fun surprise! We flew over Lake Mead and The Hoover Dam before landing torward the bottom of the Grand Canyon. The trip was one of the best times I've had there! Unfortunately we got in a small fender bender on the way to the airport and missed our flight home.  We had to wait several hours for the police which took extra long because Obama was in town!  We were on the last flight of the night too.  Luckily Southwest re-booked us on the a.m. flight for no extra charge and I had enough points to stay an extra free night.  I got up-graded to a huge suite! It was nice. I did have to reschedule my first client the next day.  I went straight from the airport to work which made a long day but it was worth it.  I can't wait to go back!

Mud Run

Rampage at the RAC

Pre-race

Jello-pit
Saturday I did my first "mud run".  Autumn did it with me.  It was a lot of fun!  I loved the obstacles but the running was a lot harder then I thought.  I guess I should work-out more! I think I was pretty good at the obstacles though.  The only one I wasn't great at was jumping up the hay stack.  It was a bit tall for me and I had to step on the guys shoulder.  I can't believe Autumn (who's 4'11") could do it though.  She said she had lots of practice from sneaking out the window as a teenager. Apparently I didn't sneak out enough.  It was a 5k.  We finished in just under an hour.  David and Sammy came to watch.  He drove the motor home so we could clean up and change after.  He also was our photographer, and watched Sammy too.  I am so happy he is part of my life!  Oh ya did I mention it was pouring down rain! I think I will do another one next year!

summer is comming

I love love love the summer time!  I just can't wait for it to be here.  I love playing in the sunshine!  I like bbq's, boating, and longer days.  They all just make me so happy!  I have been trying to get a sneak preview of it by going to Las Vegas and Lake Havasu.  One of my great girlfriends bought a house down there, shipped her boat down there then got a truck to keep by the Vegas airport to drive back and forth to the lake.  Twice now I have been fortunite enough to take adventage of that.  I  just have to buy a ticket and i'm off to sunshine :) I just got back the other day it was 105 degrees when I was there. I love it down there so much I plan on going 2 more times this year (in the fall when it cools down a bit).  Hopefully someday I can get a place there myself to snowbird or retire to.
